Roll-out of forty countries with RedDot CMS

After the relaunch of the German website on the basis of the RedDot CMS and the RedDot Live Server, WILO AG, one of the leading manufacturers of pumps and pump systems, only had less than 6 months, until the start of the ISH, to migrate over 40 foreign country websites to the new technology and the new corporate website design.

The task

In a very tight schedule coordinated between ecomplexx and WILO AG, the country websites were implemented in RedDot based on a master project. "An important contribution to the success of the project was definitely the joint and very strict project management", is the conclusion of ecomplexx Director Client Services Andreas Schönberg.

Standardised translation process
All content was exported as an XML structure from RedDot, translated in the central translation memory Star Transit and then re-imported to RedDot CMS. A plugin developed by ecomplexx is available for the automatic migration of new content from the master project to the country websites, which enables the definition of optional and mandatory content and ensures automatic translation.

Linkup to the PIM system ASIM
Via an interface programmed by ecomplexx, all product data including images and PDF documents are imported from the ASIM system to the RedDot CMS. There, the online editors can refine the content further and optimise it for the Internet. The automatic process also allows Wilo to provide country-specific and regional product information and is the core piece of the new websites.
