Tomorrow (17th of June) marks the second UK Community day from Open Text. The Community day is a great big get together for partners and customers to share case studies and technical experiences. This year we have been given the opportunity to join the lineup of presenters.

Our Head of Service, Fergus McKenna will be walking people through three case studies showing some of the ways we've utilised Delivery Server.

New Year's Eve was a big date for us, as a RedDot Premium partner, as it marked the rebranding of RedDot into part of the Open Text suite. This made us part of a much larger family. Over the next couple of months we will all start to see the shape of things to come thanks to the Open Text Content Days 2009.

These Content Days bring customers, partners and specialists together with Open Text to see their plans as well previews, demonstrations and the chance to mingle. We’re not missing the party, so ecomplexx will be there in full force, in each of our respective countries, UK, Germany and Austria. The dates are as follows :

  • 25 March 2009 in Vienna and Raiffeisen Forum
  • 21 April 2009 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Dusseldorf
  • 24 April 2009 at Twickenham Stadium, Twickenham

More information : http://www.opentext.com/contentday/2009/

ecomplexx will also be attending the RedDot Community Day in London (19th May 2009) where our Technical Consultant, Paul Smith, will be giving a presentation on Internationalisation hints and tips based upon our free Internationalisation whitepaper.

Come and see us at any of these events and see how we can help you.

Well, it's now official. On the 1st of January, 2009, Open Text has consolidated a number of it's products, including Live Link, IXOS, Artesia and our beloved RedDot, under the Open text banner. From now on, RedDot is the Open Text Web Solutions Group

So. We get to wave good bye to the much used Red dot - or as Daniel Kraft, SVP Corporate Strategy at Open Text (former president of RedDot) put it in his blog :

"On December 2008 we had to say good bye to one of our dear friends - the RedDot. In an emotional ceremony all of his fellow co-workers gathered together to share great stories and express their respect for one of the greatest web vision Aries of all times. "

What more can we say? We are no longer a RedDot premium Partner, but an Open Text Web Solutions Premium Partner?

Despite this change in name, our commitment to the product, or our customers, hasn't changed. ecomplexx aims to provide a CMS solution, whatever your level. We're now working with three vendors, SiteCore, e-Spirit and RedDot um.. Open Text Web Solutions.

SiteCore is a .NET product that covers the lower range in the spectrum; those smaller projects that just weren't cost effective to do in RedDot.

e-Spirit's product, First Spirit, is commonly seen as a direct competitor to RedDot Open Text Web Solutions. We see them as fulfilling two separate scenarios in the market, allowing us to offer the optimal solution to a customer's requirements.

Open Text remains our favoured solution for most situations due to it's strong integration with the Open Text suite, including the all important document management links.

Overall we think now is a great time for the ECM/WCMS market and are waiting with baited breath to see what the next update from RedDot... sorry, Open Text, brings.

Time to say farewell to the old companion and see what the future has in store
